Seminar To Guide Businesses On Trade Planning, Customs Compliance

Singapore and the Philippines’ leading trade and customs experts will conduct a seminar on “Managing Your International Trade in the Philippines and Beyond in Asia Pacific” on November 16, 2018 in Manila. The seminar is designed to help international businesses ensure trade compliance, and identify cost efficiencies and duty savings.

Angelia Chew and Eugene Jang, founders of AC Trade Advisory Pte Ltd, will examine the impact of the US-China trade war and other international trade tensions on businesses, and how multinationals and SMEs can structure their trade compliance functions to optimize their international trade and customs operations.

They will explore megatrends in international trade and what they mean for businesses in the Asia Pacific. A quick tour of select APAC countries (i.e., characteristics of customs authorities, recent notable developments for the trading community and focus by customs authorities) will likewise be provided.

Atty Agaton Teodoro Uvero, chairman of Asia Customs & Trade, columnist of PortCalls and former Deputy Commissioner for Assessment and Operations at the Bureau of Customs, will give an overview of the latest import and export rules and customs developments in the Philippines, and provide insight on how to prevent disruptions in trading transactions.

The 9am to 4.30pm seminar will be held at the Makati Shangri-La (Makati AB rooms). It is organized by PortCalls and Asia Customs & Trade.
